2010/12/17 Finally a break-through in the Argentina affair. Looks like we are leaving shortly after the 15th of February 2011 to Argentina. If you are interested to join us in the distribution of this " very special wheelchairs" in Argentina please let me know  ASAP.

The back of the wheelchair has been designed to honor " Barry Henshall" for all his work, believes  and compassion he has put in to the wheelchair fundraisers. This up and coming distribution will be a trip of a live time and everybody who ever joint up to distribute wheelchairs will think somewhat differently about this project in the future. The distribution will take about 5-8 days depending on their organization. The rest of the time we will travel and get to know the country.
 
We will follow up with this letter over Christmas with Enrique (Kike) by phone and find out more details about the distribution and the stay in the city of San Miquel de Tucuman. I will keep you posted

After a long chat today with Christiana Flessner I do have some news from the Wheelchair World;

* Argentina is still a go, everything is ok from this end but "things" have to be signed now on government level to import those wheelchairs in to Argentina.

* We are still planning to travel mid January to Argentina

* A new pilot project started to ship wheelchairs not ensemble to those countries in need. Panama, Cuba and Zambia are those countries where the wheelchairs are being ensemble from " the other end" to create work and paycheques for the poor. The wheelchairs are still the same price but whatever saving they have from the shipment cost will be paid out as salaries. Instead of 280 wheelchairs they can send 560 wheelchairs to those countries mentioned above.

* A new proto type wheelchairs is being build in China to accommodate younger people with higher activity level. More information is in the attached newsletter. Cost will be slightly higher ( estimated at $ 200.00 per chair)

* First Wheelchair Meeting 7th of October 2010 at the Kettler Residence, 6.30 pm
